The Premier 700 Series are flat braid cotton core wicks made from textile-grade cotton. They can be used for tealights, votives, pillars, and container candles. They work well in both paraffin and soy waxes as well as coconut blended waxes. They are designed to be clean burning with less mushrooming. Unlike most other wicks, the Premier 700 Series comes in many different sizes, allowing for better wick precision to achieve optimal burning candles.
Our Premier WI-780 wicks are:
6" inch height
pre-tabbed in 20 mm x 6mm tab
Coated with High Melt Wick Wax for added stability
Suitable for 3-4" pillar and container candle
Ability to bend while burning contributes to a cleaner burning candle.
They can be cut and attach the cut piece to a 20 mm wick tab for use in other candles
Testing is the only way to determine the wick that works best for each candle project. We recommend that you always TEST before producing several to ensure you have chosen the correct wick for your candle.
When performing testing, always take detailed notes and remember there are a variety of factors that can determine the appropriate wick size to achieve optimal burning characteristics. Factors that can influence the proper wick include: wax type, type and amount of fragrance oil, amount of dye used, container size and shape, and additional additives (vybar, stearic acid, etc.) used in each particular candle making project. Changing any of these variables can affect the candle burning characteristics
We do not take responsibility for our test results differing from your test results. You are responsible for your own testing.
Please note this wick information is only to provide a starting point for your candle making and is based on our own testing using a variety of containers, pillar molds, dyes, fragrances and waxes. Individual testing is recommended as style of container, mold, addition of candle dye and fragrance can alter the wick size required.
Any changes to existing candle recipes or new candles should be tested with new wick sizes. Changes in wax, fragrance oil, dye, and/or additives can alter burning characteristics, resulting in a different ideal wick size for the same candle diameter.
